Since 1980 Ann-Marie Jonckheere has earned herself a name in visual art with her rust paintings: iron installations leaving rust pattern on white linen.
When she had finished her training in decorative art weaving in Ghent her nonconformist approach to textile was a source of inspiration for a number of big players in the textile business, resulting in a fruitful cross-pollination between experimental art and applied textile design.

Thanks to several award-winning designs her oeuvre has already been exhibited three times at the Japan Design Museum in Kyoto and at the Metropolitan Museum in Tokyo. In 1994 she established Jam Creations, a design office focusing mainly on industrial carpet design
